Belarus President voices annual Address to Belarusian people and National Assembly

Speaking a the Palace of the Republic in Minsk, the President voiced an Address to the people and the National Assembly. Strengthening the independence and sovereignty of our country became the core theme of the hour-and-a-half-long speech. Aleksandr Lukashenko drew attention to the fact that in this difficult period Belarus has achieved a lot in various spheres of economy and social policy. The President urged not to rely on foreign investments and promote industrial development in the regions, and also instructed the government and the National Bank to direct all resources to the real sector of the economy. The Belarusian leader emphasized the uncontested role of a strong state in the life of the nation.
