Belarus President visited MotoVeloZavod and held a meeting on solving the issue of long-term construction in Minsk
The situation with large long-term constructions in Minsk and the state of affairs at MotoVeloZavod were the main topics on the presidential agenda. He paid attention to how the reconstruction of the Minsk Technopark site is going. Alexander Lukashenko demands to intensify construction work here. The Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee reported on what is being done – demolishing unusable buildings and structures, building new structures. It is planned to lease them to producers, both public and private. The President was given a tour around the site and received a detailed analysis of each facility. The head of state ordered to finish foundations by 2023. Later, the President held a conversation about the issue of long-term construction in Minsk. Construction projects sometimes go unrealized for years. Alexander Lukashenko cited a number of such examples – Gazprom's projects, the development of a former computer equipment plant, housing. As for the production of MotoVeloZavod, the President voiced harsh criticism for localization. However, this is a relevant instruction for other domestic industries as well. Localization was meant to be increased, but there is no serious progress at MotoVeloZavod. The assembly uses imported components. The President insists it's vital to produce local components.
