Belarus President to pay working visit to Russia on December 28-29
Today Aleksandr Lukashenko will take part in an informal meeting of the heads of the CIS member states, which will be held in St. Petersburg. The leaders of the countries will sum up the results of Belarus' chairmanship in the Commonwealth this year, exchange views on addressing common pressing problems, and discuss further measures to increase the efficiency of cooperation and socio-economic development of the CIS countries. The upcoming meeting is also significant in that December marked the 30th anniversary of the founding of the CIS. A meeting between Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin is scheduled for December 29. The heads of state will discuss topical issues in Belarusian-Russian cooperation.
