Belarus President signs decree on implementation of new joint space project with Russia
The document provides for the development of a Belarusian Earth remote sensing system within 5 years. The project participants from our country and the terms of their activities have been determined. The result will be the launch of a Belarusian-Russian spacecraft, which will stay in orbit for at least 7 years. This project will contribute to national security, become a driver for the development of knowledge-intensive industries and space industry technologies, and attract talented young people to it. In addition, the implementation of the decree will contribute to the consolidation of the positive image of Belarus as a space power and a high-tech state, as well as to the promotion of domestic knowledge and competencies in the field of peaceful exploration of outer space.
