Belarus President met with the delegation of the Leningrad Region
In cooperation with Russian regions, Belarus would like to rely primarily on the Leningrad region. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced this at a meeting with the Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko. Alexander Lukashenko called relations with the Leningrad region exemplary. The current meeting in Minsk is already the fifth in a row. The parties have set a goal of reaching a billion-dollar trade turnover. Many steps have already been taken for this. As a result, trade turnover between Belarus and the Leningrad region of Russia is on a growth trajectory this year. In H1 2023 the increase in bilateral trade was almost a quarter. At the end of 2022, mutual trade turnover exceeded $834 million, an increase of almost 19% compared to 2021. The delegation will discuss further cooperation projects today at government talks.
