Belarus became a full member of the SCO
"This day will go down in the history of Belarus as the date of our country's accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization", said Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, speaking at the summit in Astana. Today, Belarus has become the tenth member of the Shanghai family. The SCO sets the vector for the development of the entire Eurasian continent, interacting in various areas: politics, security, economics, and culture. Over a quarter of a century, the organization has become one of the most influential and authoritative international structures. Alexander Lukashenko, speaking at the summit, thanked all his colleagues for their unanimous decision to support Belarus in its desire to join the organization. The President outlined a number of areas to which the country plans to pay increased attention as a full member of the SCO.
