Belarus and Myanmar reach a new level of cooperation
28.11.2025
The President of Belarus paid his first official visit to Myanmar. During the talks with the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that Belarus is ready to expand cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. Special attention is paid to cooperation in the traditionally strong areas of the Belarusian economy — industry and agriculture. Myanmar is becoming a new foothold in the Southeast Asian region for Belarus. The states support each other in the international arena, interact on the platforms of the EAEU and the SCO, and jointly resist illegal sanctions. As a result of the negotiations, the parties concluded a number of bilateral agreements, including on the mutual abolition of visas.
