Belarus and Iran Discussed Mutual Interests in Cooperation
A meeting between Sergei Rachkov, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee, and the Iranian Ambassador to Belarus took place in the House of Representatives. The number one issue is the economy. This year, the parties are completing the implementation of a comprehensive cooperation roadmap. It is important to include a number of promising projects and areas in the new document. Sergei Rachkov noted that Iran is of interest to Belarus in terms of industrial cooperation, collaboration in agriculture, science, and technology. Trade between the two countries has grown significantly recently. The President has set the goal, among other things, of increasing trade to
$1 billion, and Belarus sees such potential. Belarus and Iran have long enjoyed very friendly and deep relations. Both countries maintain a high level of political contacts.
