Aleksandr Lukashenko sums up results of Belarus' EAEU presidency

The strategy for the development of Eurasian integration in the next five years, the granting of observer status in the EAEU for new countries – those were the topics on the agenda of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. The event was held in an online format. The meeting sums up the year of Belarus' presidency in the EAEU. Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke about the results. This year, the Eurasian Union has intensified its efforts to remove barriers, minimize exemptions and restrictions on the common market. Measures for import substitution in industry and agriculture have been initiated. But a number of other pressing issues still need to be addressed. In particular, strengthening the mandate of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
