Aleksandr Lukashenko meets with Leonid Kuchma in Minsk

The role of Minsk as a venue for negociations was the topic of today’s meeting of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko with Ukraine’s representative in the trilateral contact group Leonid Kuchma. Belarusian capital is still of great importance for Ukraine. There is no alternative to Minsk. This is out of the question to transfer the platform for a peaceful dialogue to another place, the former head of Ukraine said. According to Belarus President, Leonid Kuchma is always a welcome guest in our country. The meeting also focused on economic issues. Trade is the basis of bilateral relations. Last year it made up $5.5 billion.
