12 June is one of the main public holidays in Russia. Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Vladimir Putin on Russia Day. Belarus attaches the utmost importance to the development of relations of alliance and strategic partnership with Russia, based on spiritual closeness and common historical destinies, strong traditions of fraternal friendship and good neighbourliness of the peoples of the two countries, the Belarusian leader stressed. Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Vladimir Putin good health and success in his responsible state activity, and wished peace and well-being to all citizens of Russia. Congratulatory messages from the President of Belarus have also been sent to Chairman of the Government of Russia, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Union State Mikhail Mishustin, Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and Chairman of the State Duma, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Vyacheslav Volodin.
