Aleksandr Lukashenko: Belarus is ready to open its border with Lithuania and has not closed it
10.11.2025
The Head of State stated this during a meeting where the draft program for the upcoming five-year period was discussed. The President spoke about the current situation on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. Let us remind you that official Vilnius has decided to close the borders. The formal reason was allegedly smuggling from the Belarusian side. It is also paradoxical that Lithuania at the same time announced the recovery of damage caused to its car carriers. Thousands of trucks are idling at the border. But losses from the decision of the Lithuanian authorities are suffered not only by Lithuanian, but also by Belarusian businesses, as well as by third countries that transport goods in transit through our territory. The President clearly outlined Belarus' position and options for resolving the border crisis.
