Aleksandr Lukashenko approves decisions on protection of the state border in 2026
This is a traditional annual procedure. The President of Belarus received the Chairman of the State Border Committee and the First Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus with reports on the current situation on the borders. Aleksandr Lukashenko noted: things are not getting calmer and we do not see a reverse trend yet. Therefore, the decision to protect the state border is more relevant today than ever. According to the State Border Committee, a group of law enforcement agencies with a total strength of more than 11.000 military personnel is currently operating in the Baltic and Polish directions from the neighboring side. Ukraine has committed about 60 provocations in a year, 20 of which are related to violations of the state border of Belarus by unmanned aerial vehicles. The report outlines the priorities for the border service authorities for 2026. In particular, the build-up of the force deployment system will continue. It is planned to build five more border guard complexes in the Ukrainian direction, the same number was built last year. Work is also underway within the framework of the state program for the next five years.
