A.Lukashenko urges National Olympic Committee to further popularize sports in Belarus

The popularization of sports, preparations for the Tokyo Olympics and the state of affairs in athletics were discussed today during a meeting between the President and the head of the NOC. Aleksandr Lukashenko noted the need to hold mass sports events in the country's regions. As a positive example he cited the Vytoki cultural and athletic festival, which became a real holiday. The Head of State was also interested in preparations for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Tokyo. As noted by the President of the NOC Viktor Lukashenko, so far Belarusian athletes had won 98 licenses. In the near future the line-up of the national Olympics team will have to be decided upon.
