A. Lukashenko orients the Trade Unions Federation to quickly respond to issues troubling workers
Belarus President received a report from the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions. For Yuri Senko, this is the first report in the new position. For 10 years, Mikhail Orda headed the national association, but this year he became a deputy and left his post. Yuri Senko was elected as the new trade union leader in April. Alexander Lukashenko was interested in the plans of the leader, the situation in the organization, and the legislative initiatives of the trade union. Last year, trade unions identified over 49 thousand violations of labor legislation – employers eliminated about 97%. Labor collectives received a number of additional guarantees thanks to the legislative initiatives of the Federation. In particular, at the proposal of trade unions, from this year, young specialists will be provided with an additional tax deduction. The procedure for calculating sick leave has also been adjusted, taking into account the interests of employees. Among the new tasks is the introduction of additional financial incentives for working pensioners. The President ordered the development of the relevant legislative act.
