A. Lukashenko on working visit to Uzbekistan
The head of the Belarusian state will participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Almost immediately after landing Lukashenka headed for a series of bilateral meetings. The first one was with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The agenda included the bilateral agenda and development of cooperation in the key areas. The next meeting was with the SCO Secretary General. Belarus has applied for accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation as a full-fledged member. Currently Minsk is an observer in the SCO. It is possible that our application will be considered in Samarkand. Several other international meetings are on the agenda, including participation in informal events. The main day of the summit is scheduled for tomorrow. The Belarusian leader is expected to address an extended session of the SCO Heads of State. Aleksandr Lukashenko will speak about the priorities of Belarus' interaction in the SCO format.
