A. Lukashenko hears out report from Prime Minister R. Golovchenko
The most important indicators of economic growth in the country have been met. Four main indicators of social and economic development out of five have been met. GDP, investments, real incomes of the population are in the green zone. Inflation did not go beyond the forecasted figures. The Prime Minister informed the President about the results and trends in the economy. The current social and economic situation does not cause serious concerns for the government. But, as the Head of State noted, certain things cause concern. One of them is a negative trade balance. This means that imports of goods and services are ahead of exports. Aleksandr Lukashenko ordered to thoroughly analyse the situation. The President also gave a number of other instructions. Despite certain difficulties, in January-May 2024 the economy grew by 5.2%. GDP continues to grow. According to the President, it is important to see problematic issues and assess the state of affairs in each industry and the national economy as a whole.
