A.Lukashenko focuses on peace initiatives at CSTO summit

Belarus President took part in a summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Bishkek. In his speech Aleksandr Lukashenko focused on peace initiatives and global security threats. Belarus suggests adopting a declaration of responsible countries against placing medium-range and shorter-range missiles in Europe. The CSTO leaders confirmed the appointment of State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Stanislav Zas as Secretary General of the CSTO. Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Kyrgyzstan President Sooronbay Jeenbekov. Belarus confirmed its readiness to scale up cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, the two countries are well positioned to increase bilateral trade several times.
