A. Lukashenko: Belarus has always been the driving force behind the development of relations within the CSTO
06.04.2026
The President of Belarus made this statement at a meeting with Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Taalatbek Masadykov. Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled the successful peacekeeping operation in Kazakhstan in January 2022, in an effort to prevent tensions in that country. The Head of State also cited as an example the cooperation between Belarus and Russia in matters of security and defense, and the support provided in this regard. The President noted that there is now a good opportunity to discuss the range of military-political issues within the CSTO, taking into account the recent large-scale combat readiness inspection of the Belarusian Armed Forces.
