А. Lukashenko took part in the opening ceremony of the international standard swimming pool in Minsk

The facility was built under the project of gratuitous technical and economic assistance of the Chinese government. The amount of aid is about $250 mln. By the way, the National Football Stadium is being built in Minsk under the same project. The construction of such large-scale international-class sports facilities is the result of a personal agreement between President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of China Xi Jinping. The construction of the swimming pool began in August 2020. On the eve of 7 November, the new sports complex opened its doors for the first guests. The swimming pool meets the requirements and standards of the International Swimming Federation, which will make it possible to hold high-level competitions, including European and World Aquatics Championships. The facility will also be used as a modern training base for the preparation of the national teams of Belarus. Optimal conditions for training, nutrition, rest and recovery of athletes have been created here. During the familiarization with the material base and organization of the swimming pool, the President encouraged the athletes to achieve high results.
