А. Lukashenko participates in the opening of the Eurasian Security Forum
The Belarusian capital is hosting a large-scale forum dedicated to global security issues. About 600 representatives from more than 40 countries are taking part in the event. The forum was opened by the President. Aleksandr Lukashenko reminded that a similar event was held in Minsk last year. Then, as now, to the surprise of many, it brought together representatives of both the West and the East. The demand for peace, stability and consolidation has no borders and does not depend on political conjuncture. All spheres of security are under threat, the President said. In politics there is a collapse of all principles of democracy. Countries are increasingly using military force to defend their sovereignty or internal stability. Today there are at least 55 armed conflicts on the planet. Thousands of people die every day. Diplomacy does not work. Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasizes the need to find effective mechanisms to ensure global security.
