А. Lukashenko meets with the Apostolic Nuncio to Belarus
Europe needs a new peace treaty. A statement to this effect was made by the President of Belarus during his meeting with the Apostolic Nuncio at the Palace of Independence. Minsk established diplomatic relations with the Holy See more than 30 years ago. Belarus is constantly visited by representatives of the leadership of the Roman Curia, including at the level of state secretaries of the Holy See. This visit is not an exception. The Vatican has repeatedly expressed an open opinion on condemning the sanctions policy of the West against Belarus, for which it was criticized. But it hasn't changed its opinion. The Roman Catholic Church in Belarus is the second denomination by the number of believers. 526 churches, 28 are under construction. Apart from the services themselves, religious communities actively publish magazines, organize charitable missions and pilgrimages.
