А. Lukashenko holds talks with President of Guinea-Bissau Umaro Sissoco Embaló
Belarusians go to Africa as friends, offering the best of everything — fr om equipment and technologies to personnel training. We are ready for cooperation in all areas. Aleksandr Lukashenko said this at the talks with the President of Guinea-Bissau. Umaro Sissoco Embaló arrived in Belarus the previous day. This is the first visit in the history of bilateral relations. Before that, the leaders had a brief meeting last year in Baku on the margins of the World Summit on Combating Climate Change. The current visit is a logical continuation of agreements to strengthen contacts between the two countries. So far Minsk and Bissau cannot boast of active trade, but the partners hope to remedy the situation. We offer concrete solutions in those areas wh ere Belarus is strong — agriculture, engineering, medicine and education. The course towards Africa is one of the priorities of Belarusian foreign policy. Our country is committed to further strengthening co-operation with the states of the African continent. The visits of the President have contributed to the intensification of contacts in recent years. Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasises that Africa's influence in the global arena will only grow. Belarus has a lot to offer its partners to strengthen their economic independence.
