Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas "retold" in tapestries

On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of celebrated Belarusian literary figures Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas, an exhibition opens at the Palace of Art. This will be the largest event dedication to the Belarusian classics. Contemporary artists will demonstrate their understanding of eternal themes in 200 works. The focus is on the first lifetime portrait of Yanka Kupala, which was painted from nature in 1921 by Russian artist Dmitry Polozov. Classic canvases from folk crafts gurus in collaboration with mixed paint, broken glass and hanging art objects.
