Traditions of majolica revived in Vitebsk
03.01.2022
Vitebsk ceramics master Lyudmila Kovalchuk revives the traditions of majolica. A year ago, she received a presidential grant for the implementation of this project. Majolica is a type of ceramic product made of colored fired clay, covered with an opaque glaze. The manufacture of such product requires both specific working conditions and high-quality materials. The author's majolica is especially valuable because today its production goes through the same stages as 4-5 centuries ago. The only difference is that some modern elements are introduced.
