The Tsitovich National Choir of Belarus turns 70 years old

The team was created in 1952 on the basis of a small song choir in the village of Bolshoye Podlesye, Brest region. The first leader and inspirer was the choir conductor, folklorist, ethnographer, People's Artist of the USSR, whose name the collective still bears – Gennady Tsitovich. Its traditions were continued by Mikhail Drinevsky, People's Artist of Belarus, professor, connoisseur of musical folklore, who had been at the head of the ensemble for 45 years.
