Starye Dorogi revived Rukhov carpets technique

The town of Starye Dorogi has revived the forgotten technique of Rukhov carpets. The name of the stylized pictures comes fr om the settlement wh ere they originated. The manufacturing techniques can soon be included in the state list of historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus. In that case the unique carpets will get UNESCO’s protection. Pictures made of straw on a black cloth appeared in the 50s of the last century. These unusual carpets were famous across the entire Soviet Union.
