Spiral weaving included in list of intangible historical and cultural heritage of Belarus

The technique of spiral weaving of the Gorodok, Braslav, Verkhnedvinsk districts and Vitebsk city received the status of intangible historical and cultural heritage of Belarus. Items made in the spiral weaving technique were practical and durable. At the beginning of the 20th century, craftsmen made containers for storing food, as well as furniture, shoes, beehives, hats and caskets. In total, 13 objects of the northern region of the country have been included in the list of intangible historical and cultural heritage of Belarus.
