08.06.2020
During research work at the Transfiguration Church in Polotsk, archaeologists found a 12th century plinth. The ancient brick depicts a musician. During the excavations, the plinthiform brick was found along the northern part of the wall. A man holds a musical instrument in his left hand. It is a dulcimer or ancient gusli. It is possible that it was painted at full height. But only a part of the image has survived to this day. The ancient brick is in research in the laboratory of the University of Polotsk. In the future, the artifact will be included in the museum exposition.
