Monument to Yakub Kolas unveiled in Stolbtsy

In the district center Stolbtsy, a monument to Yakub Kolas was solemnly opened on the occasion of the 140-th anniversary since the birth the national poet of Belarus. The image of the man of letters – voluminous words – was implemented by a team of three sculptors: Ivan Misko, Sergey Logvin and Vladimir Pipin. Public authorities, enterprises and organizations of the town and the district, individual entrepreneurs, as well as caring residents of the Stolbtsy district took part in the installation. Along with the memorial, the facades of residential buildings were decorated with thematic paintings to the anniversary of the classic of the Belarusian literature.
