Modern textiles as art form
03.11.2021
Contemporary textile art by artisans from different parts of the world is presented in the Schemelev Gallery in Minsk. There are more than 100 works by artists from Iran, Austria, Germany, India and Belarus. The exhibition demonstrates modern textiles as a separate art form. It is a completely new look at traditions, which the artists have rethought and embodied with the help of mixed media: textile photography, video art, 3D animation, soft textile sculptures. By the way, a 9-meter high textile piece by Christina Vysotskaya named The Tree of Knowledge now adorns the Belarusian pavilion at the EXPO in Dubai.
