March 27 – World Theater Day

The holiday was approved at the initiative of UNESCO in 1961. There are 28 professional theaters in Belarus. The most visited is Bolshoy. In second place is the academic musical theater. In total, more than a thousand performances are presented in our country a year with an audience of almost two million spectators. Of these, about 350 productions are by Belarusian authors. There is a museum of the history of theatrical and musical culture in Minsk.
