M. Gorky Drama Theater celebrates its 90th anniversary

The National Academic Drama Theater named after M. Gorky is 90 years old. The President congratulated the staff on the anniversary. The founder of the legendary troupe is Vladimir Kumelsky, a representative of the Moscow Art Theater School. In 1928, the troupe consisted of 28 people. In 1931, the team was called the First Russian Theater of the BSSR, in 1932 – the State Russian Drama Theater of the BSSR. For 90 years, several generations of artists have changed on the theater stage: Rostislav Yankovsky, Alexandra Klimova, the Olimpdiada Shakh-Paron. In honor of the anniversary, the theater hosted a special screening of the premiere rock opera The Count of Monte-Cristo.
