International Day of Monuments and Sites marked on April 18

April 18 is the International Day of Monuments and Sites. There are four sites in Belarus that are included into the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. These are the Mirsky and Nesvizh castles, the Struve geodetic arc, and the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park. Five more sites have been put up for inclusion into the list. Among them are the Augustow Canal, the Savior-Transfiguration Church in Polotsk, Kolozhskaya Church in Grodno. A relevant dossier is being prepared.
