International Day for Monuments and Sites observed today

On the occasion of the International Day for Monuments and Sites, a round table is held in Minsk to discuss the modernization, restoration and conservation of castles. At the National Academy of Sciences, historians and architects are discussing the adaptation of palaces for museums, the future conservation of the Novogrudok Castle and the law protection of historical sites. Currently, the national program "Culture of Belarus" comprises 38 historical sites which undergo restoration. Preserving cultural heritage is one of the priorities of the state policy.
