In 2018 the cultural capital of Belarus will be Novopolotsk, which will turn 60 next year. In the largest center of the petrochemical industry in the CIS, one of the industrial, scientific and educational centers of Belarus, great attention is paid to the development of culture. The city regularly hosts major contests, festivals and forums. The title of the cultural capital is awarded in Belarus for the ninth time.
