Gorodok to host Day of Belarusian Writing
The Day of Belarusian Writing is getting ready to meet the reader. The anniversary forum will be hosted by Gorodok, Vitebsk region. The thirtieth celebration of the unity of the national word will be held on September 2 and 3 at the birthplace of the author of "Taras on Parnassus", Konstantin Verenitsyn. The poem will become the leitmotif for the opening concert. The program includes "Gorodok Readings", an awarding ceremony for the winners of the "National Literary Award" and the "Living Classics" competition. On the central stage on the main festive day the names of the winners of the contest "Praise the Hands that Smell of Bread" will be announced. The celebrations will end with the passing of the torch to Ivatsevichy, the capital of the Day of Belarusian Writing in 2024.
