Gennadiyevskaya Bible replenishes collections of National Library
21.03.2022
The collections of the National Library were replenished with an exclusive handwritten book. Now the country’s largest book depository owns a facsimile of the first in the history of the Slavic Cyrillic complete set of biblical books of the Old and New Testaments in the form of the first volume of the Gennadiyevskaya Bible. This book became the basis of church publications in the East Slavic lands. The original Gennadievskaya Bible was created in 1499. This copy of the relic was donated to the library by the Minsk Theological Academy on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Orthodox Book.
