Festival of National Cultures kicks off in Grodno

The Festival of National Cultures kicks off in Grodno today. The holiday of friendship, organized once every two years, is unparalleled elsewhere in the world. Representatives of 35 diasporas will take part in the forum this year. For the first time Mordvins and Tamils will arrive for the festival. This afternoon the opening of a panoramic site and a monument to the legendary historic figure and military leader Davyd Gorodensky, planting trees on the Friendship Alley and a 3-D show on the walls of the Grodno’s New Castle will take place. In the evening, the festival participants will walk through the streets of Grodno. The festival will last three days. On Sunday, the holiday will move to the Augustow Canal.
