Festival dedicated to 200th anniversary of birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko kicks off in Minsk

The international festival dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko opens in Minsk. For a week, the music forum will present all the versatility of the works by this 19th century Belarusian and Polish composer. The festival opens with the play "Galka". It will end with a conservatory evening where the Crimean sonnets will be performed. Stanislaw Moniuszko, a native of Cherven district in Belarus, received a musical education in Poland and Germany. The composer is the author of church pieces, operas and cantatas, ballets and operettas.
