Portrait painter Eugene Kharitonenko presents heroes of his epoch at the National arts museum. Throughout his life, he painted portraits of people – his congenial souls. The presented portraits transport their viewers into the 1950-ies. The main canvas at the exhibition displays opera diva of the Bolshoi theater of Belarus Nagima Galeyeva as Carmen. It is one of the most large-format pieces. In total, 14 paintings by Eugene Kharitonenko are preserved at the museum's funds. His portraits are spread among collections of the Belarusian museums, while landscapes and still lives are preserved at the artist’s family.
