Christmas play "Tereshka's marriage" staged at Bolshoi Polsvizh village

The youth at the Bolshoi Polsvizh village of the Lepel district staged a Christmas play "Tereshka's marriage". The ancient rite is held on Christmastide. It is aimed at getting closer young unmarried men and women, that they try the roles of brides and grooms. The action is accompanied with folk songs, jokes and certainly – dances. The "Tereshka's marriage" rite is Belarus' historical and cultural value. Numerous guests, including foreign tourists come to watch the festive performance.
