Brest takes up baton of CIS cultural capital

Brest in the year of its millennium became the cultural capital of the CIS. The city officially took the baton from the Armenian Goris. This will allow the regional center to become even more recognizable in the world and become a platform for expanding intercultural relations with the countries participating in the Commonwealth. More than 30 major cultural events are planned for the year. Brest became the 15th cultural capital of the CIS. Earlier, Gomel and Mogilev were honored with such a title among the Belarusian cities.
