Big anniversary of national classic

Today is the 140th anniversary of the birth of the national poet of Belarus Yanka Kupala. Numerous events in honor of his birthday have been taking place throughout the year. Today they will take palce across numerous venues nationwide, with laying flowers at the monument to Yanka Kupala in Minsk. The literary museum, as well as four of its regional branches, prepared special programs for the anniversary of the classic. On Saturday, the Kupala festival of poetry, songs and folk crafts will be hosted by the poet's small homeland in Viazynka.
