Biaseda folk music ensemble celebrates its 30th anniversary. The name of the band, translated fr om the Belarusian language, means an invitation to relatives and friends for family holidays, wh ere one's favorite songs are sung. This is what happens at the ensemble's concerts, with listeners always singing along and dancing. The repertoire includes adaptations of folk tunes and songs arranged by ensemble's artistic director, People's Artist of Belarus composer Leonid Zakhlevny. Choral, solo and instrumental pieces by Biaseda span a variety genres: lyrical and comic, dedicated to family celebrations, folk rituals. Today the ensemble is giving an anniversary concert.
