Belarusian and Chinese embroidery exhibited at Belarusian State University

Belarusian and Chinese embroidery is showcased at the exhibition at the Belarusian State University. The exposition reflects images and symbols that unite the national characteristics of Belarus and China, i.e. peony flowers, kittens and even peacocks - this bird has been inspiring Belarusian masters since the 19th century, when first peacocks were brought here by rich landlords. One of the most valuable exhibits is the silk map of ancient Beijing. Similar to the Belarusian-Chinese exhibition, the BSU will soon host expositions made in Turkish, Ukrainian, and Kazakh style.
