Beacons of inspiration for cultural capital
13.08.2021
The cultural capital of Belarus, the city of Borisov, holds a series of museum events. Today, an exhibition of arts and crafts has opened at the Borisov United Museum. The straw works and pottery are part of the local collection, while the paper cutouts, or vytinanki, and dolls in traditional Belarusian costumes were brought from Molodechno. The works of the popular Molodechno-based artist Liudmila Volkovich-Boris also occupy a special place. Her panels reflect a personal view of the folk ritual cycle from Christmas-time Kaliady and the Calling of the Spring to harvesting season.
