"Ballet summer" at Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus
From June 8 to 16, the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus will host the ninth "Ballet Summer" festival. The audience will enjoy a marathon of dance premieres. Eight shows and nine stories told through dance. The right to open the forum was offered to guests. Today the stage hosts "Toy Salesman". It is a contemporary ballet presented by the Voronezh Opera and Ballet Theatre from Russia. The company performs in Minsk for the first time. The debut of the Voronezh ballet company will continue tomorrow. Two one-act performances are meant to challenges classical ballet. On Saturday, the festival continues with a production by the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theatre. The audience will be offered "The Legend of Love" choreographed by Grigorovich. The Belarusian repertoire is represented by "Swan Lake", "Don Quixote" and "Giselle". The "Ballet Summer" will culminate in a gala concert of stars on June 16. It will feature prima donnas and premieres from Russia’s Mariinski, Kremlin and Perm ballets companies.
