Accurate copy of Act of Union of Lublin to be displayed in Minsk
The document which laid the foundations of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth will be displayed in Minsk. A copy of the act of the agreement between the Polish Crown and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania will be presented on the 450th anniversary of the signing of the Union of Lublin. The replica came from the Polish Museum of History. The original is kept in the Warsaw archive. It took restorers 2 years to accurately recreate the artifact. Like the original, the authentic copy is written on parchment, sealed with 77 magnate seals secured with silk threads. The exposition will be supplemented with historical chronicles, the Statute of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania from the collections of the scientific library of Yakub Kolas, and a reproduction of a painting by Jan Matejko.
