400 years of first ABS celebrated in Belarus

The National library of Belarus is preparing a high-scale project timed to 400 years of the first ABC, celebrated this year. This will be a facsimile of the 1618 edition. At present, there are two copies of the book in the world, one of them being complete. It is kept at a closed library in London. The book is regarded to be printed by Belarusians, possibly, by scientist and ecclesiastic activist Melety Smotritsky. The discovery places Belarus among the countries with rich traditions and essential achievements in education.
